On Friday night we stayed with Drew and Christina in Reno so I could make it to my early appointment with my fertility doctor the next morning. Then, we were able to spend the afternoon with them and have lunch. We headed home and started to get ready for a stake adult dance (which was SUPER lame). It was just fun to get dressed up and go out together! I wore my old red dress I had stuck in a closet from high school, John wore his brand new grey suit we got him at Costco, we had dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant, and we hit up the dance for about 30 minutes and left. They meant adult dance, because they played nothing but old people music that you can't dance to. But I still got a few slow songs with my honey, including "Till There Was You" by The Beatles that I requested because it's one of our songs, so it was worth it!
After we got home, we exchanged the gifts we said we weren't going to give to each other this year. I was trying to plan a secret that John found out about, and he can't pass up an opportunity to make me smile.
John put together the most fabulous package with some Ferrero Rocher chocolates, a Reese's peanut butter heart (it's huge, and glorious, and full of peanut butter!!!!), a witty card (I just love witty cards), a cute, sparkly cat necklace he saw me eyeing at the store a few weeks ago and an adorable silver key necklace with a heart on top. He gave me the key necklace with a note that said it was the key to his heart. D'awwww!
A few weeks ago, I helped model for my sister-in-law, Charlotte, who is a great photographer. She was preparing for a boudoir shoot marathon, and needed some practice. I volunteered to get some great shots to give to John for Valentine's Day, and she even made a book for me! Here are some of our favorites. I love how modest and classy they ended up being.
I told John that I totally want to go on America's Next Top Model now! Maybe if they do another petite season.
We were planning on finishing the night with a movie, but since we stayed out so late and have been getting up early every day lately, we postponed it and finished the night early.
