There is a reason I haven't posted in a few days. It is called school. It is a sad tale, with a somewhat happy ending. A tale of late nights, dead brains, heavy eye lids, sore backs, and non-social weekends. I have been studying all weekend. I had a statistics test today. My first midterm of the semester. And I was really worried about it. So I studied a few nights last week, all night Friday, and all afternoon. I went into the test feeling pretty confident, and that confidence grew considerably as I went through the test, slowly, as to not make any stupid mistakes, but comfortably.
An hour and a half later, as I walked down the stairs to the monitor where my score would be posted, I had a bounce in my step. This was a great way to start out my testing season! Mentally crossing my fingers behind my back, my eyes darted to the screen for my student ID number.
student 9-9648..... 120 points...... 82%
No congratulations next to my name, as seen when you get a 90% or above, but I guess I can live with it. I really did feel like I did better. But I won't complain! The short answer still has to be graded, and I know I got them all right. It was the easiest part of the test. So that'll bump it up a percentage point or two.
I also had my cha cha test today in my dance class. That was actually fun. I love test day! I get to do my hair, put on a ton of hot make up, and dress up in my swirly skirt. I tested with the impossible man firefighter. He's a great dancer. Then 3 other guys asked me to test with them. So I felt pretty special :) It was a lot of fun.
But, yes. My back is killing me (probably from sitting in the hard library chairs and the desk at the testing center combined with my 40 lbs. book bag). I'm brain dead. My eyes are tired, and I'm going to bed really early tonight. After I make peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. My mom sent me a new recipe I'm anxious to try, but I'm taking cookies to people, so I need a recipe that makes more than just a dozen cookies. Maybe I'll give those other ones a go after my biology test tomorrow.
Biology... tomorrow... oh, crap.

deep despair
RIP CHARLIE!!!!
My iPod is officially dead. No life whatsoever. I am completely devastated. It had a really good run, though. Lasted a lot longer than most. Four years. I still remember the day I got it. I was so happy.
I lost my crutch. I never ever ever went anywhere without my Charlie. He was attached to me at all times. I can hardly even walk around campus without it. I love taking walks in the evening, and now I can't go because I don't have my music. That's what calms me down and relaxes me. Putting on my favorite tunes and going on a long walk. I'm sooooo depressed. You have no idea. It's like I've lost a child.
Mommy... I want an iPod for Christmas. Please. That's the only thing I will ask for. They have some gorgeous 8 gig nanos that are going down in price because Apple is releasing a new model. So the old ones are cheaper now.
On a completely different note...
Amanda wrote an absolutely hilarious blog the other day about me and my husband Spencer. You have to read it. Click here.
It made me really happy.
Quotes of the Day:
Me: "Whoa. Psychedelic Utah."
and
Amanda: "What grows in Utah?"
Me: "Um, weeds."
and

Quotes of the Day:
Quinn: "I might go out of town this week, but it all depends. I might not."
Me: "Is this like a family trip?"

Me: "Oh, that's fun. So you're going on a trip with your dad? Just you two?"
Quinn: "Yep."
Me: "Where are you going?"
Quinn: "China."
Me: "What?! China? You could've said something earlier! Here I thought you were going on some like business trip or a family vacation, and you'll be all the way around the world!"
Quinn: "I guess I did only say that I'm going out of town, huh."
and
Me: "I would totally go on a date with my husband."
Amanda: "You should. He was way cute."

goal of the week
So I just decided to do something. I'm going to work on things little by little. There are many things that I want to become, and that I wish I would do. So I'm going to pick one thing every week and work on it. I've been trying to do this for a while but I realized something. And this came when during last week's Sunday School lesson, actually. We were talking about goal making and how to achieve them. First, you should write it down. Somewhere. Otherwise, it'll go forgotten, or won't be taken seriously. And I expanded on this on my own- at least this is true for me- I have to report it. If I don't have a way to report my success with goals, then I won't do it. I think, "Well, I set this goal, but if I don't complete it no one will know. It doesn't matter. I'll try again later."
I'm going to fix that.
Every Sunday I'm going to set a goal. And then next Sunday, I'll report on it, and pick a new goal, etc. I'm actually excited about this!
Here is my goal: I'm going to get to bed every school night before midnight.
Sounds silly, but I want to do it. I am definitely a night person, and since I don't have to wake up early every day, I tend to stay up really late. So I'm going to set a goal to get to bed before midnight so I can wake up earlier and feel better. Early to bed, early to rise, right?

the love of my life
BYU won, again. We shut out Wyoming 44-0. It was an awesome game, but I wish that it could've been more exciting, you know? I'm extremely happy at the result, but it's always fun to have a close game.
Quotes of the Day:
Status on Facebook: "Allison is stiff, sore, and bruised. Wow."
Ashley: "From what? O.o"
Me: "Country dancing. We do a bunch of crazy lifts and flips and stuff. I just realized it could've sounded very dirty lol. What were you thinking?! PS No, I wasn't covered in feathers this morning. And my pillows are all intact."
Ashley: "Haha I had no idea what to think! And LOL at the Twilight reference."
Me: "I think I should delete this conversation. I don't know what to make of it."
Ashley: "I think it's awesome!"

world of dance
I saw the World of Dance concert tonight. It was so good! I will admit that I'm a little biased, but I thought the ballroom dancers were the best. I was actually disappointed with the ballet numbers. It was really dark depressing music. And really modern. I like the happy, classic, beautiful ballet.
Oh man. Then there were the modern dancers. Okay, story time.
"Once upon a time, there was a small family in Gardnerville, Nevada. The mother of this family had heard that the amazing BYU Dance Company was coming to perform in a nearby town. Full of excitement, she bought four tickets. One for herself, her daughter, her mother, and her father, who reluctantly decided to come out of pure boredom. The night of, they dressed up and drove to the theatre to watch the dancers. But little did they know that it was actually the modern dance team. During the performance, the whole family was confused and a bit unbelieving of what they were seeing. The drive home proved to be the best part of the night as they discussed the dance numbers. The decided favorite was the one where the whole company was twirling around, throwing scarves up in the air and bounding around the stage gaily. But the cherry on top was a comment made by the woman's father. 'If I paid tuition for my sons to learn scarf dancing, I'd kill them!'"
Okay, so I totally respect the modern dancers. They do display incredible talent and are very passionate and committed to what they do. I just don't understand. And have a hard time taking them seriously. So for you, Mom, I thought I'd share something. Do you remember that night when the company did a dance number with colored mats? And how they were wrapped up in them and acting like turtles, and then like big, giant squares with arms, and rolling around in them? They did that number tonight. And I thought of you. And started laughing really hard.
I did love the performance, though. The folk dance team did a clogging number that was absolutely fantastic. And of course, the Cougarettes were incredible.
Quotes of the Day:
Amanda: "We caught a tarantula once. But it died. Actually, it exploded."
and
Jacob: "You're beautiful."
Me: "You are too sweet. Thank you."
Jacob: "You're welcome. Why are you still up? And who's the boy this time?"
Me: "I'm always up late. And what do you mean by your latter question?"
Jacob: "I figgered there was a guy over. At least it'd be a good reason to yet be up."
Me: "No boy tonight."
Jacob: "Get working on that. Seriously."
Me: "You want me to have guys over at my apartment the wee hours of the morning?"
Jacob: "Indeed."
Me: "Okay. I can find one. Give me five minutes... I'll do it later. Curfew is in 10 minutes."
Jacob: "Oh bother. See, if you had a guy over, then I couldn't do this: I love you. And sweet dreams."
Me: "Good night, friend."
and
Amanda: "Why are you up so late? I'm reading. What are you doing?"
Me: "I'm... being a retard?"
and
Me: "You can describe him as my Jacob. I know that's weird, but it's the same exact situation."
Amanda: "So he's going to fall in love with your mutant baby? Weird. Let me know how that works out."
Me: "lol!!!!!! No! I mean in New Moon Jacob, gosh."
Amanda: "Oh, so your second love. I see."
Me: "No. I don't love him. That's Eclipse."

mute
This week at BYU is Accessibility Awareness Week. Yesterday and today, the University Accessibility Center set up a few booths around campus. At these booths were explanations of a bunch of different disabilities some students have. There were disabilities like leg and arm impairment, leg and arm loss, speech impairment, hearing impairment, speech and hearing impairment, tunnel vision, and dyslexia.
So, as part of this awareness week, they had a challenge for students. We could pick one of the disabilities and take that on for a few hours. They had wheel chairs, crutches, arm bandages, tunnel vision glasses, and ear plugs. I chose to do the speech impairment. So I had to sign a release form, and at that moment, I was mute and could not speak with my mouth until my challenge was complete. The things they had listed for me were
From there, I decided to ask for directions to my next class. I got out my notebook and wrote, "Could you direct me to the JSB?" and walked outside. I stopped a passing girl who looked startled and confused. Then I pointed to my notebook, she read it and asked loudly and very exaggerated, "ARE YOU DEAF??" I shook my head and mouthed "Mute" and pointed to my mouth. She just said, "Um, okay well, follow me." She didn't look at me, acted very nervous and didn't talk to me. We got close to it, and she pointed and said, "There it is." I signed, "Thank you," and she said, "Yep." And walked away. It was an interesting experience. Just because I can't speak doesn't mean that I'm stupid. It made me realize I need to watch myself so I don't act differently to disabled people. They want to be treated the same.
I then went to my Stats class, which was easier since I don't ask questions in there. With a class of 700 students, one is always bound to ask my questions before I even realize that I'm confused. My new friend, Jordan, is in there. We met in class last week and sit by each other and discuss the lecture with each other. So I did miss that. Okay, I lied. When I have a question, I ask Jordan. So I just wrote my questions down to him.
After that, I ventured to the library to get a CD. This was a better experience. I looked up the call number on the catalogue, wrote it down, and went up to the Music/Dance Library desk. I decided to get the Mormon Tabernacle Choir CD, "Called to Serve" because I've heard it before, and it's incredible. Anyway, I went up to the desk, and gave the attendant my notebook with the call number and a question about where to return the CD. The girl at the desk was sooo nice. I really wish I couldn't told her about my experience earlier and how helpful and kind she was being to me. But I couldn't speak and didn't want to write it all down. That made me really sad. I really wish I could've told her that I appreciated her.
After that, I listened to Across the Universe on my iPod. Which was hard! I wanted to sing soooo badly! It's my favorite thing to sing along to and I couldn't! After that, I was finished and went back to the Wilk to watch a short video. And I get a t-shirt for finishing it, too. I'll wear it with pride.
I am so incredibly grateful for the gifts that I have, and that I have been blessed with the working body that I have. I also have incredible respect for anyone with a disability. They are much more courageous and brave than I, and more so than a lot of people. This has taught me how to respect them and that they are normal people that just want to be treated like everyone else. This was an incredible experience.

math tutor
A question from my stats class:
"Births are not, as you might think, evenly distributed across the days of the week. Here are the average numbers of babies born on each day of the week in 2003:
Suggest a reason why there are fewer births on weekend days than during the week."
What the freak? What am I, a flippin doctor? I thought this was a statistics class, not an obstetrics class.
So here was my BS answer:
"When pregnant women move around a lot it can cause an early birth. Perhaps there are many working women who are up on their feet all day and go into labor because of it. So because most work weeks are Monday through Friday, it would make sense to have a birth on a working day than a weekend resting day."
Is that even true? Let's hope the TA that grades this believes me.

college musical
I think all dancers, actors, singers, artists, music lovers, and dreamers have all wanted their life to be a musical.
Mine is. As of now.
I love dancing. You all know this. It's what I was born to do. I've always had a very natural talent for it. I just spent 2 hours dancing tonight at the swing and social dance clubs. It was awesome! It made me so happy. It really cheered me up. I've slowly been climbing the happiness ladder, and I know it's a combination of friends, ice cream, and dancing. (The last two balance each other out, thank goodness).
So I was walking home in my red flats, Latin skirt, and matching red shirt, feeling like the shiz with my iPod. I was listening to cha cha songs because duh, they're awesome. My feet didn't want to just walk, though. I was itching to break into dance in the middle of the JFSB courtyard, just like always. I was listening to "Save the Last Dance for Me" by Michael Buble just daydreaming. I have one daydream I always think of for this song. A lot of girls do that, so don't be surprised. Then the next song, "Sway", also by Mr. Buble, came on. At this point I had reached the treacherous stairs. I've always wanted to break out into dance and song in the middle of that tunnel and on the stairs. For forever.
So I did it.
I was a star. It was amazing. I went all out.
I am now really really happy. And hyper.
Quotes of the Day:
Shaun: "What about your other girl?"
Bryant: "Oh her? She's my harlot."
Me: "Am I the harlot?"
Bryant: "Are you calling yourself a harlot?"
Me: "It wouldn't be the first time I've caused problems in an FHE marriage. It would actually be the... third."'
Bryant: "Well, if you want to be my harlot I will have to tell my other one."
Me: "Who is the other one?"
Bryant: "Reese Witherspoon. She is going to be jealous."
Me: "Who? Harlot number one or your wife?"
and
Me: "I like how I'm black."

Bryant: "Well, if you want to be my harlot I will have to tell my other one."
Me: "Who is the other one?"
Bryant: "Reese Witherspoon. She is going to be jealous."
Me: "Who? Harlot number one or your wife?"
and
Me: "I like how I'm black."

get a life
I have a new goal. Go to bed every night before midnight. I can do it!
I don't like biology. It's boring. And lame. And I could care less about it.
I'm tired.
So guess what. There is always one class every semester that I like to complain about. Last fall it was American Heritage. Last winter it was bioorganic chemistry. And this semester, it can be biology. Or maybe stats. I haven't decided. Although I love my stats teacher. I just know that biology will be easier. So I'm debating between the two. I'm pretty sure biology is going to win. Mostly because my teacher is sort of clueless and was asking me questions about organic chemistry that he didn't know on Friday. I felt weird answering his questions... maybe I shouldn't have raised my hand when he asked if anyone had taken O-Chem.
Oh I unsolved a mystery that made me mad. I got soup today in the Courgareat at the Cougar Express. So a bowl was like, $2.65 or something. Okay. So then I went into the Twilight Zone in the bookstore with Wistie afterwards, and they are also selling soup. It was actually different soup (a kind I liked better) and it was only $1.65. I was mad. I know that $1 isn't that much, but it adds up over time. And they had rolls. The express place was out of rolls. I'm going to buy my soup at the Twilight Zone from now on. And you should, too.
And I just realized that I complained a lot today. I'm sorry. I won't do that again soon.
PS This is my 100th blog post! Wow what else do I waste my life on?
Quotes of the Day:
Wistie: "Should I get something to eat?"
Me: "I don't know. You better decide quick."
Wistie grabs water bottle
Me: "Oh great you're turning into me."
and
Amanda: "It's a vampire series, but it doesn't follow the typical vampire style books, but it's not like Twilight at all. It's like Harry Potter meets vampires, with swearing."
Me: "Yes! I want to read them!"

i'm so done
talking politics with people. Every time I bring it up, or they bring it up, I end up offending them, or making them mad, or get attacked. And then I just end up feeling bad. I've even stuck my foot in my mouth a few times. Politics is SO taboo. I'm just glad God didn't command us to spread the word of Republicanism. I've experienced the fact that people don't like to hear about it.
end.
Quotes of the Day:
Amanda: "Do you still have a cold sore?"
Me: "Yeah but it's almost gone."
Amanda: "If my husband has cold sores, I'll be really sad because I'll get cold sores."
Me: "Well, you could just not kiss him for two weeks."
Amanda: "Or kiss him everywhere else..."
Me: "Amanda!"
Amanda: "What, we're married! We're allowed to do that!"
and
Amanda's roommate: "Dishes are like boyfriends. You should only be doing your own."
and
Amber: "Are you hungry?"
Me: "For man food."
Amber: "Mmm..."

remember remember the 11th of september

Can you believe it? Seven years ago today was the incident of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. I still remember everything as if it were this morning. That's quite an accomplishment, because I can't even remember some important things like past birthdays, or the first day of school that well.
I was in 7th grade, just starting middle school. I remember waking up a little earlier that day, a bit before 6 AM, because I heard my Dad's voice. He was talking to my mom about something he heard on the radio. As I got dressed I heard the TV turn on, which was weird, because my parents usually didn't watch TV in the morning. I went out to get breakfast and saw my parents and brother Tyler watching a giant burning building on the news. I had no idea what was going on, and didn't even really realize this was a big deal. I had no idea what these twin buildings were for, or that they were major emblems of America. I figured they must be important, though, because everyone was screaming and my dad was astounded. Not knowing how the building was burning, I figured there must have been a fire or explosion, like in the movies. They showed replays of the plane crashing into the tower, and as my forgiving nature would expect, I figured that it was an accident. That a pilot lost control of the plane and crashed into the tall building.
And that's when I saw it on live TV. A second plane coming out of nowhere, crashing into the second building. At that very instant, even through my young, naive, and immature eyes, that this wasn't an accident. My stomach constricted and it was hard to breathe. I sat there in shock until the bus came, and I rode to school. The bus was uncharacteristically quiet while we all listened to the radio report about the crashes the whole 40 minute bus ride to Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School. Here I heard the report that the Pentagon, another presumably important building, had been hit.
After getting off, I rushed inside to my first period math class with Mr. Carr. He had the news on in the classroom and was watching the newest story about the Pentagon. Most kids were in their classes well before they started in order to watch the news report. It was eerie to see the hallways so empty, and everyone so incredibly solemn. I remember a girl there, but I don't remember her name or how I knew her. I just remember keeping an arm around her to give comfort as she was sobbing. Her uncle worked in the towers, and she had no idea if he was in the building. I even shared in her grief and let a few of my own tears fall. I couldn't believe that some people would hate America so much to the point where they would want to kill a bunch of innocent people. Then, even as class was signaled to start, Mr. Carr made no effort to get up and start. We all sat there for another 15 or 20 minutes watching the buildings slowly burn and collapse.
At that time, I had no idea at all that this was going to be the beginning of such conflict and war between our country and the Middle East. I also had no idea that it would draw Americans closer together and raise patriotism higher than it had been in a long time. I had never seen so many American flags flying from the porches of houses all over the town, and many businesses hanging flags by their front doors.
I am just so incredibly grateful to be living and born in this country. We have so much freedom, and such a great Constitution which was inspired by God. I know that our freedom and the way we live causes a lot of jealousy and hatred from other countries. And that makes me so sad, and even more grateful to be living here, where I can know the fullness and joy of the gospel. I'm grateful to my ancestors who traveled to the New World from Europe, and to those who were first converted to the church. I'm grateful for their faith that helped them persist through the wilderness to Utah valley as pioneers to help the church grow. And I'm grateful for every generation since then. If just one had fallen, I wouldn't have been blessed to be born into the church and have the amazing opportunities that I have. I'm grateful to my parents for making such wise decisions, and especially for getting married in the temple so we can be sealed together forever and share in our joy in God's Kingdom. And for all this, I know a lot is expected of me. And I'm excited and eager to show my potential and do my work here on the earth. I never actually realized that I'm one of the reasons why so many of my ancestors worked so incredibly hard to remain righteous. For me. So I can have a life knowing the Lord and be able to bless my children with that. And hopefully, I can bring others into this light so their own families can know this, too. Wow. I never realized how good I have it.

Wistie: "My name is not Quinn!"

Stephen: "I have stuff in your trunk."

every blink
So, I think this is supposed to be one of those deep, thoughtful, mysterious, confusing, non-sensical entries. One of those, "I've experienced a life-changing event" things. But I'm not totally sure what to say.
The Beatles gave so much wisdom. Not many people would agree with me. But just little things in their lyrics. Little love tokens, or about friendship, or life. Nothing from the obvious drug songs, of course. I don't think that I want to go to the Octopus's garden, or meet Rocking Horse People who I'm sure would share their marshmallow pies with me. Although I'm sure they all had a good time in the shade. And that those pies are delicious.
"Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see."
I had never realized that's what I've been doing. When life gets hard, I just pull myself inward and see what I want to see. The world, including myself especially, look different through my eyes. It's so much easier to live that way; to chose what you want to see, change how some things look.
But it's no way to live.
I've tried opening my eyes for the first time in a long time.
And to 1 AM, thank you.
I think the hard part is just accepting what I'm seeing.
PS
HOLLA Shout out to my homie Amanda!!! Yo.

Is awesome.
I love Jack Black.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOMMY!
Quotes of the Day:
Me: "I kissed a girl. I didn't like it. Maybe because she wasn't wearing cherry Chapstick."
and
Me: "If I were a boy, I wouldn't be here right now."
Quinn: "I would hope not because you'd be a boy wearing a dress."
and
Me: "I'm so glad I learn math faster than other people."
Quinn: "What? That was so random!"
Me: "You know I'm a random person."
Quinn: "I know. But that was like, super random. I mean, it wasn't going back to an earlier topic from a few hours ago, it wasn't even an earlier topic from a few days ago, and it doesn't even link to anything we've been talking about."
Me: "...and?"
and
Me: "I'm just all mentally messed up :)"
and
Megan: "I don't have pants to wear. That seems to be a reoccurring thing today."
Me: "You lost your pants?"

I have Social Dance Club tomorrow!
Okay. Here is how I wish my life could be like. Everyone has a dream life. Here is mine.
I'm graduated with a major in dance married to the most amazing man in the whole entire universe who is a brilliant something or other that makes a lot of money. All I do all day is go dance and then for months at a time we go travel the world. And we have a summer home in Paris. Oh and my husband went to France on his mission, so he speaks French. We wake up every morning and walk to the bakery on the corner to get a hot croissant. I guess kids fit into there somewhere. How about we have kids and just travel during the summertime? 4 kids who are beautiful. And then sometimes we go live in London.
Why can't I just dance the rest of my life?
Um, ta da.

only at byu
So the last few nights. Fun. Just a brief outline because I don't really feel like writing right now. Which is weird, because my muse has been absolutely dieing to come out lately.
Friday night Rachel Jane, Sarah, and I went to Rachel, Heather, Alyssa, and Eva's apartment to say hello. When we got there, no one was home and the door was unlocked. So, of course, we wend in. That's when we decided to put sticky notes all over their living room with cute things written on them. To make sure we wouldn't get caught in the act we hid under their beds and wrote about 15 notes or so, then we ran out to the living room and stuck them all over. Wanting to know what time they were going to get home, Sarah called. We found out they were at a neighbor's house and didn't know what time they would get home. So we stole Rachel's lap top and started watching a movie. About 10 minutes later they came home, flipped with happiness when they saw the notes, and were even happier to see us sitting on their beds.
Last night I went to Wistie's house. We watched the Swan Princess. I love that movie! That's when Amanda called and said she was at my apartment wondering where I was. So Wistie and I walked over there to get her and came back to Wistie's. Then we watched Spice World. Heck yes.
And this morning all the BYU, Provo, and Wasatch area stakes had a giant regional conference. I got to go in person to the Marriott Center to see it, but they broadcasted to the rest at their stake centers. I couldn't believe that there were over 150 stakes watching it! I heard one of the 70 speak, who was really good. But I can't remember his name. Then a sister in the Young Women's general presidency spoke. She was very happy. Very very happy. Then President Packer spoke, and finally, President Uchtdorf. It was a nice meeting, but absolutely killer to sit through on the hard benches.
Tonight I'm going to the CES Fireside where Elder Holland will be speaking. I'm really excited for that! Then I'm making peanut butter cookies.
It's just amazing to me that I have so many opportunities like this. Never before now would I have dreamed that I'd hear five general authorities speak in the same day in person. General conference, maybe, but this is different. It's really cool.
I've had a really good weekend :)
Quotes of the Day:
Rachel Jane: "You have the perfect Disney princess laugh."
and
Me: "7 + 6. That makes 11, right?"
Rachel: "Uh, no, I believe that's 13."
and
Tyler: "You didn't like the lady who was shooting happiness out of her laser eyes?"

maybe not so
Maybe I'll make the team next time.
Rachel, I love you. Thank you so so so much for coming to the auditions with me last night. It meant so much and was a lot better when someone was there with me. :)
I wonder if it was still worth getting my feet beat up to go dance last night. My left one still really hurts. I need my boyscout Doctor Tylor to fix it for me like he did last time...

explicits
I can't wait to get back into the groove. It's so hard the first week or two of classes because I'm trying to get organized with all my notebooks, binders, and info. Trying to keep track of what teachers require what, getting the homework schedule down. It's really stressing me out. Just because I'm a lame person like that. As if I didn't have enough on my mind already. At least once I get used to this, I'll be good until I take another extended break. It's usually easy to get started into winter semester because I was well organized from fall and all into that kind of thing.
Doctrine and Covenants: Not like Book of Mormon. I'm not sure how I feel about my Professor yet. I can definitely tell he will be one of those really hard teachers. And he likes to jump around a lot and lose me.
Statistics 221: No comment. I like algebra. This isn't algebra. Figure it out.
Intro to Family Processes: My teacher specializes in marriage, romantic relationships, and dating. Holy cow! I totally didn't know you can specialize in that! So cool! That like, describes everything I love about life. And Amanda is in this class!
Biology: As much as I was dreading taking this class, I'm actually not too worried about it. My professor is funny, sort of, as funny as science nerds can get. And I can tell he wants us to succeed. He set up the course to make it very possible to do well.
Intermediate Social Dance: Love! Already. Love. My teacher is Betsy, who coached one of the teams recently. And she said that she recognized my name and face from somewhere. That's a good sign, right? She's so young and nice. Plus, she is one of the judges at the team auditions tomorrow. I know that's a good thing.
Beginning Ballet: I get to wear the whole get up. Black leotard, pink thick tights, canvas slippers, hair up in a bun every day. Wow. I'm actually really excited for it.

psychologist in mind, writer in heart
I should be a romance novelist. Not one of those cheesy, sappy, crude ones with the long haired, macho men and a woman's bosoms on the cover; the ones that everyone are ashamed to admit they like. I should write a romance novel like Twilight. I just thought you should know. I just need a really good story.
Example. Here is an excerpt from my diary. Yes, my actual, real diary. Shh, don't tell anyone. And keep it all a secret. Promise?
"As my eyes scanned the page I eagerly drank in his enduring words. They seeped through me, giving my mind a temporary, comforting warmth. I didn’t want it to end because I knew that my mind would return to being blank and black the second they wore off. But even though I knew this, for once, I didn't care. I recalled the once familiar joy and bliss that warmed my mind and soul, reminding me of the times we were together. The memories that I had locked away in order to more easily spare the pain evaded their chains and flooded back to me. I could feel my smile, now stiff from disuse, warm across my face. I closed my eyes to get a better effect from the images, almost picturing them behind my lids like a movie playing on a reel. And though I knew this could only take seconds, time lost its meaning as my imagination excitedly drifted off like it hadn't done in ages. I could feel my heart start to pound faster in anticipation of my daydreams. And even though one tiny voice of reason, my main enemy, reminded me that I would regret doing this to myself, I ignored it and continued to let my mind slip away.
"It could have been seconds or minutes as I expectantly came back to the ground when his words started to lose their effect. The warmth gently wore off and my limbs regained their numbness. My heart slowed, and the rushing sound in my ears died down as I started to regain consciousness of my surroundings. The ticking of the clock started again, almost louder than before. I suddenly snapped back to reality as the rhythmic noise reminded me physically and mentally where I was. The blank emptiness once again took its place in my chest, and I knew it would be some time before I could start ignoring it again. The smile I had felt faded to memory as I realized it had left along with the other joyous feelings. In their place, the darkness took over, feeling more malicious than before. Just as I had expected. My eyes fluttered open as my mind again whispered, I told you so. As I sat there, evaluating what had just taken place, my heart countered, No. Every second I will endure was worth it."
It's true, I do like flourishing the truth a bit. But it makes my life seem more dramatic and important. And more fun to go back and read later on.
