Wistie's Pizza

It is 10:55 P.M. Wistie and I just ordered pizza. I owe it to her because of the roommate law. I paid up on everything except the steaks, and the steak isn't coming for a long, long time. Give me two to three years.

Did you know that 9 million miles are covered by Domino's drivers each week? That's 37.5 round trips to the moon! I learned that from their website.

Ordering pizza online is the fastest way ever. We sent in the order from the website and got the pizza to our door in no kidding, 13 minutes. And we got to track the pizza the whole way. Stewart put our pizza together and boxed it. Then What's-His-Bucket (we'll call him Jeremy) delivered it. He asked Wistie if she was Stewart's mystery girlfriend. Now she is. We ate the pizza. It was good. The end.

We listened to the Pizza song. And Wistie just sang it back to me.

Amanda made me a beautiful gift for my birthday. She put a DVD together of a big slide show of a bunch of pictures throughout the year. And she put lots of videos at the end. I cried like 5 times through the whole thing. Then I cried when she left my apartment tonight because that's the last time I'll see her for a long time!

I want to go to Disneyland.

Wistie and I shared a carton of chocolate milk with the pizza. It was good.

I packed everything, moved it all out of my apartment, and cleaned everything today. I started at 10:30 this morning and didn't finish until about 7:30. I felt like collapsing on the floor and passing out. Maybe I should to go sleep now.

It's the last night that Wistie and I have together as roommates. It makes me sad. We've been taking turns asking questions like What was your most annoying moment, what was the most angry moment, what was your favorite moment with everyone together. Having roommate bonding time.

Wistie, I'm going to miss you tons. I love you.

Wistie: "Is there anything you need to bare your chest of? That came out wrong."
Me: "I don't know. What about you?"
Wistie: "Sometimes I would steal your tape."
Me: "My masking tape? Scotch tape?"
Wistie: "Yes."
Me: "Once, when I had done my laundry and forgotten my towels in my room, I borrowed your towel.:
Wistie: "That's disgusting."

Recent Discovery

GUESS WHAT.

I figured out why I hate the microwave and the oven beeping so much!

To give some background, I usually watch the microwave when I'm cooking something and take out my food 1 or 2 seconds before the beeping goes off because I hate it. I also hate the oven. That one is probably worse. Especially since I can't watch it as well because it only has minutes and not seconds on it. And it's louder.

For the last 5 or 6 years of my life I have had alarm clocks that beep to wake me up. It's like classical conditioning. Now every time I hear an annoying, rhythmic beeping noise, it reminds me of having to wake up maddeningly early and disturb me from my precious sleep.

Yeah. Um, the end.

Eulogy to Chem 285

I only have one more final left. And I am SO excited. Not about the final, but about being almost done. As of this moment, right now, at this very second, I am officially done with chemistry for... forever. Wow. That is kind of sad because I really do enjoy chemistry. Sometimes. We have a very complicated relationship. I can spend hours and hours focusing on it and paying it a lot of attention and it stabs me in the back, or it can be slightly decent to me and be my friend. And for some reason, I still love it. That sounds like what my high school counselor described as an abusive relationship. Hey... wait a minute... That's so totally not cool.

Knowledge about chemistry that I emptied from my brain at the testing center:

1. Anything about alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, ethers, esters, carboxylic acids, ketones, aldehydes, or other organic compounds. Well, that's a lie. I actually really liked the organic section. I just mix up which ones are higher in energy or boiling point or solubility...

2. Structures of mono/di/polysaccharides. Who cares if it's a ketohexose or aldopentose, or if it's an L- or a D- sugar. And it doesn't matter to me if it's connected with a beta-1,6 linkage, or an alpha-1,4... it doesn't change the way my body digests it.

3. Glycolysis, beta-oxidation, the citric acid cycle, or the urea cycle. Enough said.

4. The electron transport chain, or how many stupid NAD+ and FAD things you get. To be honest I don't even know what those things are. Proteins or something.

And I am so done talking about this.

Wistie: "Too bad Ream's is closing."
Me: "Yeah, we had some good times in Ream's."
Wistie: "Castle, running around-"
Me: "Oh, glass!"
Wistie: "-glass."

Finals

Finals... suck.

Trying to find a job... sucks. Although I did find a spring position in the Cannon Center for a baker's assistant. I'd help make, decorate, and display the desserts. It's four hours a day, 5 days a week. The pay ain't bad, either. I think that sounds like fun. I hope I can snag it. It's spring only, and that's what I need.

So I can definitely tell I haven't been getting exercise since Wednesday. I don't feel... great. Since I walk to and from campus every day, and I dance a few times a day, I've gotten used to the exercise. But since I've been staying inside the last three days studying, relaxing, etc, I haven't been exercising. I can tell. Maybe I need to go run a mile or two this afternoon, or walk to campus and sell back my books.

This short message break was brought to you by the "Finals Crunch Time" company. Now, get back to work, slacker!

Quotes of the Day:
Wistie: "Oh, it's hot out."
Me: "It's burning my face."
Wistie: "Your face is burning your face."
Me: "Thanks."
Wistie: "I don't even know what that means."
Me: "I don't either, but I'm taking it as a compliment."

and

Me: "Stop throwing your feet at me!"

and

Me: "I'm.............. stupid.

Strangely Optimistic

I just spent the last two hours cleaning my apartment. I haven't had any time at all for the last two weeks to do it, so I did it today! It's so clean! I absolutely love it. I haven't cleaned my room yet, but that can wait for another day. I'm too tired right now.

So I in flip flops and a tee shirt today. Then after taking my last chemistry midterm, I walked back home barefoot. And now, two and a half hours later, it's snowing! How on earth??? I really really hate this. All weekend it was gorgeous. It was actually like almost 80 yesterday, too. And now it's freezing and snowing! Winter is not giving up without a fight. Well, it is still "winter" semester, so I guess it has every right to still be winter. But next Thursday it better be gone for sure.

So, I'm staying for spring semester! I'm very excited. I'm sad that I can't go home and see my family and a few friends that miss me, but I think it'll be good for me to stay. I'm taking an MFHD (Marriage Family and Human Development) class which is a GE and will also count toward my major if that's what I pick. Then I'm taking Social Dance 280 (the intermediate level). So that's four credits there. I should be able to handle that. Then, if Ty finds out that he's running later in the semester, he's going to stay and we're signing up for International Standard Ballroom together. That'll be really nice to take with him because we can practice all the time out of class. It'll take a lot of practice, especially since it's the course squeezed into 7 weeks, so I'm excited to have an official dance partner. I hope that he stays but that's still up in the air. And oh my heck! Rachel is right across the hall from me!!! That's going to be so much fun! We're going to be in the same ward again together, and be really close. Kind of like this semester how my apartment and the apartment across from me was like one apartment. We lived in each other's apartments. I can't wait to do that again :)

Big news! So my dance teacher told me yesterday in class that the BYU Ballroom Company is holding tryouts this spring. And, there's a bigger chance of making it now than ever! There is a Tour team and a backup team, and the backup team is usually in Nauvoo during the summer, but they're not going this year, so both the tour and the backup team are taking dancers! Also, he said a majority of the team is graduating next week, so there's a large number of spots that needs to be filled. I'm going to try out for the company! I'm very excited. I had decided to stay for spring and then found this out! It just was the cherry on top of my day yesterday!

Quote of the Day:

Me: "Cross?"
Ty: "Cross Dress for Less."

and

Me: "Aww when I make out I want everything to turn into stars!"
Wistie: "It'll happen if you make out long enough."
Me: "Yeah, because you start losing oxygen. You start seeing those little stars in your eyes. That's when you know you're losing brain cells."

All Creatures of Our God and King

Yesterday was so much fun! I went to church (second to last time with my ward. I am SO sad! I've grown so close with so many people in my ward!) and then Amanda, Ty and I left after Sunday School to go up to Salt Lake. Amanda had to go listen to a guy perform the organ at the Tabernacle for her organ class. It was beautiful! I had never heard the Tabernacle organ used before. The songs were just amazing! I really wish that I can play like that some day! Then after the performance, we ate the sack lunches that Amanda had packed us. It was the best lunch I've had in a long time! We had sandwiches, chips, apples, carrots, fruit leather, chocolate cake things, and a candy bar. Mmm I wish I had more right now. After that we went to both the visitor's centers, and walked around the grounds and took pictures! It was a pretty fun day :) Here are my favorite pictures. The rest are on photobucket.

Life is Wonderful :)

So it's late and I don't really have time to write. But tonight the date was fantastic! :) Rachel, Alyssa and I all got ready together. Rachel did my hair and I've never seen it look more gorgeous. Then the boys got us, we played mini golf and go karts, and went to the dance. Afterwards we came to my apartment and Tyler made us waffle cones. They were delicious!

Here are some pictures, but go to my photobucket to see them all:

A Joyous Occasion

I have the best weekend to look forward to! Tonight I'm going to a ballroom dance concert with Ty. Then tomorrow afternoon my ward has their closing social at Tucanos! It's so good! Right after that Rachel and I are going dress shopping, then I have a chemistry review to go to, then tomorrow night is the Red Carpet Affair dance! I am SO excited about this dance! It'll be the first time a guy has ever asked me to a dance. I don't know why it's such a big deal, but it is for me. I don't know. Maybe I feel jipped out of a real high school experience or something. I did go to my senior prom, but he didn't ask me I told him I wanted to go. It was... well I won't go into that. So I'm getting a pretty dress, Rachel is doing my hair, and I am going with the perfect guy who wants to go and loves to dance, and we are going to have a perfect night. Oh and on Sunday, Ty, Amanda, and I are going to the Salt Lake Temple to listen to the organ at the tabernacle. Amanda has to listen for her organ class and she invited us along. We're going to have fun, walk around, and take pictures. I can't wait :)

So last night was hectic. Well, actually yesterday was hectic. I was in the library for 5 hours working on a paper, then came home and chilled for a bit, had people over to watch The Office (which was awkwardly hilarious, by the way). Right after that, Ty said he had a surprise so we went to his apartment. He had fingerpaint and canvas for us! So we fingerpainted portraits of each other on canvas. That was way fun! I gave him blue hair, and I had a bright orange shirt and rosy cheeks. So we painted them as a secret, and then when we were done we flipped them over to show each other. For mine, he had painted me, and written "Will you go to the Red Carpet Affair with me?" I was so excited! He had sort of asked me on Monday so I knew we were going, but he wanted to officially ask me.

Mom, I feel like I'm cheating on you. I'm ashamed. I'm eating Pillsbury crescent rolls that I just got out of the oven. I miss your Amber's Rolls. Will you make those and Shepard's Pie the first night I'm home?

I'm so excited for my fun weekend. I deserve it. And I am so relieved and feel accomplished. I turned in my research paper. Whew! The one I've been annoyed about all semester. It's done! I turned it in today! No more worrying!!!

Yahoo!

Two more instructional days. One midterm. Two final tests. One take home essay test. One project. Then I'm home free!

many happy times from the past

Happy five months, honey! Can you believe it? Time has gone so fast. Best few months of my life!

:)

Now I must return to writing a research paper.

ciao.
