things i have learned from working at the cannon center

1. You can get seniority and be promoted to cashier after only a week and a half.

2. You're considered inactive in your FHE family because you work every Monday night.

3. After listening to the same radio station and the same CD to clean up every night, everyone is ready to hit their heads on something.

4. Some team members and some of The Office characters are strangely alike.

5. Everything from hair to fruit pieces, floss, straw paper, and pudding can be vacuumed up if you go over it enough times.

6. If said mess cannot be vacuumed up, it is deemed "noncleanable" and left.

7. It is completely acceptable to walk on the freshly mopped floor and leave muddy footprints.

8. Daily sacrifices must be made to the pulper. It is the king and all leftovers are offered to it. No exceptions.

8. If you want a free meal, offer to take the leftovers to the pulper, and shove some in your mouth before you dump it in. just make sure to chew and swallow fast before Derek catches you.

9. EFY kids are infamously misbehaved, but they are absolutely nothing compared to the sports camp kids.

10. It's okay to talk when there is nothing to do as long as you are cross training.

11. If you work slower, you won't have to help in the dish room.

12. The cashier's true title should be "bouncer"

13. The number above the door of the basement leading to the locker rooms is number 13. no wonder...

14. If you get bored, change your name to Eve and talk with a southern accent. Besides, it entertains the EFY kids. And you get lots of compliments

15. Cashier's can't do homework, draw, or read. But we can leave our station to talk to coworkers

16. DON'T eat the chocolate ice cream

17. No matter how good the food and desserts look and smell, it's never as good as you'd think

18. We never close until Dr. Roth arrives. He always sits in the same booth, uses a new napkin of the same color every time, won't touch door handles, and makes the hosts get a new plate if he sees them touch the top of the rim.

19. Sports kids are entertaining to watch and collect data on for your child development class. They are the classic example of the popular, physically aggressive type

20. The tables don't have a marbled pattern on them. They are just so extremely dirty they won't come clean.

21. Cashiers make excellent therapists

22. No one really pays attention to the rules given during the food handler's permit course

23. You can tell when it's salmon night because you can smell it before you enter the building

24. Chicken cordon bleu is coveted

25. Everyone can make a mop bucket with their eyes closed

26. "Orange" is an element on the periodic table

27. Checking in your till at the end of the night feels like an investigation

28. Everyone hates being in charge of the hot bar. Everyone.

29. Sport camp kids act a lot like the creepy zombies from I Am Legend and they leave face prints on the glass when they try to come in the locked door.

30. It's almost impossible to get fired.

31. Your team is your new family.

And lastly...

32. Just choose Cafe Rio. It's cheaper

Inedible chocolate ice cream? That's sacrilegious! The chocolate gods are not happy.
Don't work too hard, honey.
